Jerome Dyson
Year: 2006 - 2010
Position: Guard
Hometown: Rockville, Maryland

Jerome Dyson is in his senior year as a Guard for the UConn Huskies.  “I remember as a kid wherever I went I always had a basketball with me.  I just loved the game, and always wanted to play basketball.”

Jerome had a couple of best memories so far as a basketball player at UConn when we spoke.  “The most recent 13-game winning streak that unfortunately came to an end against Pittsburgh, and winning the Paradise Jam Tournament in the Virgin Islands this season are both good memories.  The Virgin Islands Championship was my first championship win while at UConn.”

It was the coaching staff that helped Jerome make his decision to play for UConn.  “The great coaching staff here and Coach Calhoun have put a number of players into the National Basketball Association (NBA), and that’s where I want to be at the end of my UConn career.”

The transition from high school to college was good, too.  “You always want to have help out there on the court.  It’s been good being around the guys here, my teammates at UConn.”

Final Four Bound:  To get to the National Collegiate Athletic Association Final Four it’s going to take a lot of hard work.  “Everybody has to play a little bit harder.  Hopefully I can help them from the bench (knee surgery), but it’s going to take a lot of hard work.”
