The Huskies were invited back for their fourth all-time appearance at the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, by having thier custom surfboard presented to them during the second-half of Saturday's game against Tulsa.

The Maui Invitational will be held in November 2016.
UConn was also in attendance in 2000, 2005 and 2010.

Legend Article of Richard (Dick) Gillespie

Richard (Dick) Gillespie was a forward for the UConn Huskies from 1970 - 1972. He was a member of the team that won the legendary “slow down” game against Rhode Island University to win the Yankee Conference Title in 1969-70. In February 2014, I met Dick and he shared his experiences on and off the court.

One of our Legends has passed

Vincent Stanley "Yogi" Yokabaskas

Passed away at Meadowbrook in Granby, CT
on Sunday, April 13, 2014.

Known as "Yogi" he played center (#10) for the UCONN Huskies from 1949 - 1952. He attended the University of Connecticut on a basketball scholarship and became the school's first ever 1000 point scorer!

Good-Bye Walt Dropo

Walter "Moose" Dropo passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010. He was 87.

Walt was recognized as the greatest three-sports star in Uconn history. He played baseball, football and basketball.

He was selected in the NFL professional draft and the professional baseball draft. He played for the Boston Red Sox and was the first ever Boston Red Sox American League Rookie of the Year and played Major League baseball for 13 seasons.

24 points, 13 rebounds AND 10 assists!
(this is the 8th triple double ever in school history)

of scoring 42 points in a single game (against Vermont at the XL Center on Nov 17th), with former player and legend Cliff Robinson (who set the record against Hartford on Dec 28, 1987).

A Great Legend Will Be Missed

Robert "Spider" Ursery, Jr.

Ascended into Heaven Sunday, August 3, 2008.
Known as "Spider" he played forward (#31) for the UCONN Huskies from 1985 - 1988. His unwavering faith, perseverance and amazing courage to fight on against incredible odds is an encouragement and inspiration to us all.
